Frequently asked

Short answers about formats, limits and privacy.

How is speaking time calculated?

Standard conversational speech averages 150 words per minute. Formal presentations typically run at 130 WPM while fast presentations reach 170 WPM. We compute timing estimates for all three paces.

How does this differ from reading time?

Average silent reading occurs between 200 and 250 words per minute, which is faster than spoken speech. Both values are provided for comprehensive script planning.

What counts as a unique word?

Words are normalized to lowercase and stripped of surrounding punctuation before evaluating set membership, giving an accurate picture of vocabulary richness.
