MCP client
Cursor
Add TranscriptDock as an MCP server in Cursor.
1. Add a server#
Open Cursor Settings, then Features, then MCP, and add a new server. Or create .cursor/mcp.json in your project directly:
.cursor/mcp.json
{"mcpServers": {"transcriptdock": {"type": "http","url": "https://transcriptdock.com/mcp","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer td_live_YOUR_KEY" }}}}
Nothing to install. If you prefer a local process, use this entry instead (needs Node.js):
.cursor/mcp.json (local server)
{"mcpServers": {"transcriptdock": {"command": "npx","args": ["-y", "@transcriptdock/mcp"],"env": {"TRANSCRIPTDOCK_API_KEY": "td_live_YOUR_KEY","TRANSCRIPTDOCK_BASE_URL": "https://transcriptdock.com"}}}}
2. Verify#
Reopen Cursor Settings, MCP. transcriptdock should show as connected with its tools listed. Then ask the agent to transcribe a link in a chat.
Example prompts#
- “Transcribe this YouTube link and give me the SRT.”
- “Check on job 11111111-1111-4111-8111-111111111111.”
- “Transcribe this TikTok and wait until it is done.”
Troubleshooting#
- Server not listed: check the JSON is valid and reopen the MCP settings panel.
- Unauthorized: check the key in the
headers(orenv) block has not been revoked. - Local server, command not found: install Node.js so
npxis on your PATH.
