Pricing and credits

1 credit per caption transcript, 2 per minute of AI transcription. Plans, extra credits, and when credits are charged.

One kind of credit pays for everything. A caption transcript costs 1 credit whatever the length. AI transcription costs 2 credits per started minute (a 30 second clip is 1 minute: 2 credits; a 22:10 video is 23 minutes: 46 credits). Everything else, reading, exporting, webhooks, is free.

  • Monthly credits reset each billing period. Unused credits do not roll over.
  • Extra credits: any amount from 1,000 to 100,000, 10% off from 10,000, 20% off from 50,000. They never expire and are used after the monthly credits.
  • The trial is captions only. Any paid plan unlocks AI transcription, uploads and direct links.
  • Every plan has the full API, webhooks, video discovery and MCP.

When credits are charged#

  • Only when a job succeeds. While it runs the credits are held; a failed or cancelled job releases the hold and charges nothing.
  • In auto mode, 2 credits are held and 1 is charged when the video turned out to have captions.
  • Submitting a video your workspace already has a transcript for is free. A video someone else already transcribed is served from our cache instantly, at the normal price.
  • Rate limited or rejected requests charge nothing.

Spend caps#

Pass max_credits on a job to cap what AI transcription may cost. The media is measured before any work; if it would cost more, the job fails with 402 BUDGET_EXCEEDED and nothing is charged. Without a cap a job may spend up to 240 credits (2 hours).

When credits run out#

Submissions fail with 402 INSUFFICIENT_BALANCE before anything is held. Buy credits or change plan on the Billing page; the new balance applies immediately. GET /v1/usage returns the same numbers the dashboard shows.
