Terms of service

The agreement between you and Transcript Dock for using the website, API and dashboard.

Updated

These terms govern use of the Transcript Dock website, API and dashboard (the "Service"), operated by VOLODS LTD, trading as Transcript Dock, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16149306) with its registered office at 29 Rosemary Avenue, Grimsby, England, DN34 4JN. By creating an account or calling the API you agree to them. Effective 15 September 2026.

The service#

Transcript Dock returns transcripts for media you point it at: creator or platform captions from public YouTube and TikTok videos, and AI transcription of audio from those links, uploads and direct media URLs. Output is provided as is; automatic captions and AI transcription contain errors and you are responsible for reviewing anything you rely on.

Accounts and API keys#

  • One person or organisation per workspace. Keep API keys secret; requests made with your key are yours.
  • You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
  • We may suspend a workspace that abuses the Service, exceeds documented limits in ways that degrade it for others, or has unpaid charges.

Acceptable use#

You may only submit media you have the right to process. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the platform the media comes from and with the laws that apply to you, including copyright and privacy law. Do not use the Service to build datasets for training models on content you do not have rights to, to harass people, or to circumvent access controls.

Plans, credits and payment#

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly and renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Plan credits are granted every month on both, do not roll over, and a yearly plan does not grant a year of credits up front; purchased credits do not expire.
  • Credits are consumed per successful result: 1 per caption transcript and 2 per started minute of AI transcription, as published at /pricing and in GET /v1/capabilities. Prices may change with notice on that page; changes never apply retroactively.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable tax, which is added at checkout where required.
  • You buy the Service from us. Stripe processes the payments; invoices, receipts and your payment method are available in the Stripe customer portal, opened by the Manage billing button on the billing page.
  • Refunds follow our refund policy.

Your data#

Transcripts and uploads belong to you. We keep them for the retention period of your plan and then delete them; you can delete them earlier from the dashboard or API. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Availability and liability#

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it; platforms change, and captions that existed yesterday may be unavailable today. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Termination#

You can close your account at any time from the dashboard; prepaid credits and the remainder of a subscription period are handled as described in the refund policy. We can terminate for breach of these terms with notice to your account email.

Changes and contact#

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they apply. Questions: support@transcriptdock.com.
